Lithuanian scientists discussed the situation in Belarus

Print versionOn 7 January, a round table discussion on the situation in Belarus of Lithuanian analysts, political scientists, representatives of NGO’s and other experts was held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The goal of the discussion, which was initiated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was to invite independent experts to share their insights regarding the internal and foreign policy processes in Belarus since the presidential election of 19 December 2010, and to make suggestions regarding further development of Lithuania’s relations with Belarus, informed BC Foreign Ministry of Lithuania.
Participants of the discussion decided to continue organizing informal meetings, which would be similar in format and aim at strengthening the dialogue on the key issues of Lithuania’s foreign policy between implementers of foreign policy (diplomats) and independent experts.
