Nearly half asylum applicants in Estonia are from Ukraine

Print versionUkrainian nationals made up nearly half of the applicants for asylum in Estonia in 2015, it appears from figures released by Eurostat, cites LETA/BNS.

According to Eurostat's data, out of 225 asylum applications received in Estonia last year 95 were submitted by Ukrainian nationals, accounting for 42% of all applications.
Fifteen applications were lodged by citizens of both Iraq and Syria, making up 7% of the total number.
