Ex-politician Slesers' son appears on list of Latvia's top earners
With EUR 10.787 million made over the past year, Edvards Slesers has taken
the 6th position on the list of biggest earners. The magazine says that he has
made the millions from Regma 1, a
company in which Edvards Slesers owns a 70 percent stake. The remaining 30
percent belong to Ainars Slesers,
his wife and another son. Regma 1
posted EUR 15.41 million in consolidated 2016 profit. Officially, Regma 1 is involved in providing
financial services, but the profit has been generated by a network of
companies.
Olafs Berkis, an entrepreneur from the northeastern Latvian port city of Ventspils, has
also been included in the top earners list for the first time. Berkis emerged
as the fourth biggest earned with EUR 21.516 million.
Arnis Riekstins, a co-owner of Mikrotikls IT
company, known internationally as MikroTik, has topped the list of Latvia’s
biggest earners for the second year in row with EUR 32.531 million, and ABLV Bank’s owners Ernsts Biernis and Olegs
Fils are in second and third place with EUR 27.086 million and EUR 26.875
million respectively.
Further down the list are Ventspils businessman Genadijs Sevcovs with EUR 16.323 million, Jelena Nikitina, chairwoman of the supervisory board of Repharm pharmaceutical holding, with EUR
9.014 million, Repharm co-owner Josifs Apts with EUR 8.996 million and
businessman Vladimirs Ivankins with
EUR 8.82 million.
Rounding out the list Latvia’s top ten earners is contractor Guntis Ravis. The veteran of the top
earners list has made EUR 7.885 million over the past year.
Dienas Business press publisher has drawn up Latvia’s Top100 Earners in
collaboration with Lursoft business database and journalist Lato Lapsa. Dienas
Bizness has included the list in the publication Miljonars (Millionaire) along
with Latvia’s annual rich list and other information.
