Minimum subsistence level decreases to LVL 165.38 in September

In September 2009, the monthly minimum subsistence level in Latvia per capita was LVL 165.38, or LVL 0.32 less than in August, according to the Central Statistical Bureau's data.
The subsistence level in September this year was by LVL 1.93 or 1.18% higher than in September 2008, when it stood at LVL 163.45, writes LETA.
In January, the figure was LVL 174.41.
The content of the complete minimum consumer basket of goods and services was approved by the Council of Ministers on April 8, 1991. The minimum consumer basket does not include alcoholic beverages, tobacco and luxury items.
The value of the minimum consumer basket of goods and services is calculated monthly per one resident in Latvia by the Central Statistical Bureau.
