Nearly 100,000 jobs have disappeared from Estonia in 4 years

Estonian Statistical Office vacancies and jobs statistics show that nearly 100,000 jobs have disappeared from Estonia in four years, since the fourth quarter of 2008, LETA/Postimees writes.
There were altogether 621,793 vacancies and jobs in Estonia in the first quarter of 2008 and in the first quarter of this year, there w re 522,826, by 98,968 or 16% less.
The largest amount of jobs have disappeared from construction (-42%), real estate (-29%), arts, entertainment and leisure (-26%), manufacturing industry (-25%), electric energy and gas supply (-20%), wholesale and retail trade (-19%).
The only sector where a considerable amount of jobs have been added (nearly 10%) is information and communications sector. Other sectors where jobs have been added are public administration (2%) and support activities spheres (4%).
