International exercise Sabre Strike starts in Estonia

Estonian Land Forces chief, colonel Artur Tiganik and NATO Commander Multinational Corps Northeast, Major General Boguslaw Samol open on Monday the international exercise Sabre Strike in the Tapa military base in North West Estonia, LETA/Public Broadcasting reports.
The exercise takes place from June 3 to June 14 in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
Saber Strike is U.S. European staff exercise, that aims to train for joint operations, Estonian Defence Forces headquarters said.
U.S. fighter planes A-10 and tanking planes KC-135 are located In the Ämar airfield; NATO Multinational Corps Northeast headquarters are located in the Tapa base, 1st infantry brigade practises cooperation with NATO Multinational Corps Northeast and U.S. headquarters in Tartu.
The leading headquarters of the exercise are located this year in Lithuania while in Latvia, Adazhi, Estonian next Afghanistan unit, Estcoy-17 practices cooperation with land force units of USA, UK, Latvia and Lithuania.
Altogether 1,800 military from Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Finland, Poland, USA, UK and NATO participate at the exercise. Estonia is represented with nearly 250 people.
