Latvia to be represented by 58 athletes at Sochi
The Latvian Olympic Committee today officially announced those athletes who will represent Latvia at this year's Sochi Winter Olympic games, informs LETA.
Latvia will be represented by 58 athletes in Sochi.
Latvia also sent 58 athletes to the Vancouver Olympics in 2010, as well as the Torino Olympics in 2006.
The 2014 Winter Olympics will take place from February 7 to 23.
The first Latvian athletes are expected to arrive on January 31.
The following athletes will represent Latvia at the Sochi Olympics:
Speed-skating – Haralds Silovs
Biathlon – Zanna Juskane, Andrejs Rastogujevs
Luge – Ulla Zirne, Eliza Tiruma, Martins Rubenis, Inars Kilvenieks, Kristaps Maurins, Andris Sice/Juris Sics, Oskars Gudramovics/Peteris Kalnins
Short-track – Roberto Pukitis
Bobsleigh – Oskars Melbardis, Oskars Kibermanis, Daumants Dreiskens, Arvis Vilkaste, Janis Strenga, Raivis Brols, Helvijs Lusis, Vairs Leiboms and Intars Dambis
Down-hill skiing – Kristaps Zvejnieks, Roberts Rode, Martins Onskulis, Lelde Gasuna and Agnese Aboltina
Cross-country skiing – Arvis Liepins, Inga Dauskane, Janis Paipals
