Noted Latvian artist Jazeps Pigoznis dies

The famous Latvian painter and professor at the Latvian Academy of Art Jazeps Pigoznis died yesterday at the age of 79, informs LETA.
He was born in Ruzhina County, Rezekne Region (Latgale Province) on September 15, 1934.
A 1959 graduate of the Latvian Academy of Art, Pigoznis was senior drawing teacher there from 1972 to 1986.
The nation saw him worthy of its highest honor, so in 2011 he was awarded the Order of the Three Stars.
