Riga Mayor Usakovs re-marries

Riga Mayor Nils Usakovs (Harmony) has followed through on his announcement (via "Facebook" and "Twitter") that he is engaged to be married, and that he is "proud of his upcoming wedding."
Laila Ivana, spokesperson for the Riga City Council, confirmed to LETA today that the mayor indeed has married his colleague and chief of staff, Iveta Strautina.
This is Usakovs' third spouse. He informed the public via "Facebook" April 17 that he and his wife, Jelena, have divorced.
They were betrothed in January 2010, and, as Usakovs explained on "Facebook", they remain close friends.
