On Friday, a delegation led by Iceland"s Justice and Church Affairs Minister Bjorn Bjarnason is to arrive to Vilnius, informs ELTA.

A meeting of the ministers of both countries is foreseen in the Justice Ministry. Bilateral relations in justice and legal cooperation will be discussed at the meeting.

A cooperation programme is intended to be signed as part of the implementation of the agreement on cooperation between the Iceland"s Justice and Church Affairs Ministry and the Lithuanian Justice Ministry, signed on 27 September 2000. By this programme the countries will undertake a commitment to consolidate bilateral legal cooperation, exchanging experience in the activities of imprisonment, civil metrication institutions, debts collectors and notaries.

On the second day of the visit, Saturday, Iceland"s justice and church affairs minister will see Vilnius old town and visit the Presidential Palace during this excursion.

This is the second visit of the incumbent Iceland"s justice and church affairs minister in Lithuania over three years. Minister Petras Baguska visited Iceland in May 2008.
