 Latvia's Rebeka Koha placed fourth in women's 53-kilogram weightlifting competition at the Rio Olympic Games on Sunday,write LETA.

Koha's total result was 197 kilograms - 90 kilograms in snatch and 107 in clean & jerk. Her personal record is 198 kilograms.

Hsu Shu-ching (Taiwan) won the gold medal with 212 (100+112) kilograms, Hidilyn Diaz (Philippines) took silver with 200 (88+112) kilograms and Yoon Jin-hee (Korea) bronze with 199 (88+111) kilograms.

President Raimonds Vejonis, other high-ranking officials and sports fans congratulate Latvian weightlifter Rebeka Koha on winning fourth place at the Rio Olympic Games.

Vejonis writes in his twitter.com account that this was "an amazing debut" for Koha, and congratulates the athlete and her coaches on placing fourth. "Every reason to be proud," adds the president.

The Education and Science Ministry has also congratulated Koha on an "outstanding debut".

Koha has received congratulations also from other politicians and many sports fans.
