Former Estonian interior minister, KAPO chief Juri Pihl dies at 64

Former head of Estonia's Internal Security Service (KAPO) and interior minister Juri Pihl passed away on Sunday at the age of 64, reported LETA/BNS.
Pihl was born on March 17, 1954 in Kuressaare. He served as
director general of KAPO from 1993 to 2003 and was the state's chief prosecutor
from 2003 to 2005. From April 5, 2007 until May 21, 2009, Pihl served as
interior minister in the second government of Andrus Ansip.
Pihl was elected chairman of Social Democratic Party (SDE)
by the party's congress on March 7, 2009, replacing Ivari Padar. He led the
party until October 16, 2010.
From November 2009 to November 2010, Pihl served as deputy
mayor of Tallinn. From the end of 2010, Pihl served as manager of
Panaviatic Holding AS, a chartered aircraft operator belonging to Andrei
Zhukov.
