The name of Lithuanian Millennium has been given to Tian Shan summit, informs ELTA/LETA.

Vilius Saduikis, head of the expedition which climbed the summit, said that the weather was not kind to climbers.

"There is a lot of snow on the ice, no clear spots, snow storms and thunders are frequent, however, 23 members of the team, separated into small groups, tried to overcome nameless summits," said Saduikis.

The group led by Arturas Bazys was the first to reach a summit, which it named in honor of Lithuanian Millennium, – they had to overcome the height of 1300 meters under very complex weather conditions over 16 hours. The alpinists led by Kestutis Baleisis were the second to reach a summit. A total of 11 members of the expedition reached a summit. This is the fifth Tian Shan summit given a Lithuanian name.
