Riga "Dinamo" forward Martin Kariya has become the scoring leader in the Kontinental Hockey League's playoffs at the moment, writes LETA.

As reported, Riga "Dinamo" eliminated St. Petersburg SKA from the KHL playoffs last week, beating the Russian club 3-1 in the best-of-five series.

In these four games, Kariya scored three goals and made two assists, earning the title of the highest scorer for now. Mikelis Redlihs and Lauris Darzins, Kariya's partners in his forward line, are also among the highest scorers in the KHL playoffs, with one goal and two assists each.

Kariya shares first place with another three players – Matt Ellison of Balashikha MVD, who played for Riga "Dinamo" last year, Josef Vasicek of Yaroslavl "Lokomotiv" and Alexander Radulov of Salavat "Yulaev".

As reported, Riga "Dinamo" will play Balaskhikha MVD in the KHL playoffs quarterfinals.

Kariya is also second best goal scorer at the moment; Niko Kapanen of "Ak Bars" is first with four goals so far in KHL playoffs.

Finally, Kariya shares first place with Niko Kapanen in terms of game-winning goals – the two players have scored two game-winning goals each in the KHL playoffs.

Marcel Hossa, the league's goal scoring leader after the KHL regular season, currently shares second place in terms of shots on goal with 15 shots on goal altogether, just four shots behind Moscow "Dynamo's" Karel Rachunek.

Riga "Dinamo" defenseman Sandis Ozolins, on the other hand, is the most penalized player in the KHL playoffs at the moment, although he shares the honor with ten other players from various KHL clubs.
