Aleksei Lotman was elected as the new chairman of Greens’ Party in Estonia
The leadership of the Estonian Greens’ Party elected on Tuesday evening MP Aleksei Lotman as the new chairman of the party, writes LETA/Postimees Online.
Lotman confirmed that the party leadership elected him as the chairman (the first spokesperson, according to the party’s statute) and it is possible that other spokespersons will be appointed as well.
He stated that the Estonian Greens are preparing together and with all of the party’s forces for the upcoming Riigikogu elections and the party is hoping to get at least 11 seats in the next composition of the Parliament. “All preconditions for such a result have been met; the green philosophy is gaining momentum and popularity across the world,” he explained.
Lotman is a founding member of the Greens’ Party, an MP and deputy chairman of the Riigikogu Committee on Rural Affairs, a member of the EU Affairs Committee and the chairman of the Tibet Support Group.
