Estonian Veterinary Board informed EU of salmonellosis originating from Lithuania

The Director General of the Veterinary and Food Board Ago Pärtel stated that the board has asked their Lithuanian colleagues to investigate the cause of the problem which caused a salmonellosis outbreak in a kindergarten in Estonia, writes aripaev.ee.
The EU Member States will also be informed about the incident.
Pärtel stated that the Veterinary and Food Board checked everything that was included in the menu of the Loo kindergarten. “The salmonella bacteria was found in frozen chicken which has been imported from Lithuania,” he noted.
According to Pärtel, there has been no more complaints over the outbreak of salmonellosis.
