After the flue cases birds from UK are not imported to Lithuania
The UK identified one more case of bird flu, so the State Food and Veterinary Service (SFVS) informs that birds from this country are not imported into Lithuania. "However, because of danger of bird flu, SFVS in Lithuania monitors both domestic and wild birds. This year more than 190 tests were analysed. A dangerous bird flu virus was not identified," Jonas Milius, director of the State veterinary laboratory says.
Bird flue was confirmed at chicken farm in the Oxfordshire region in the UK. Specialists of the country claim that there is no big danger for the spread of this virus, but all farmers are informed to observe birds more carefully and in case of suspecting any symptoms of the dangerous virus to inform the veterinary service immediately, reports ELTA.
