"Germany is one of our most important partners in Europe, therefore a close political dialogue with Germany on every level is crucial to Lithuania. For many years the Lithuanian Seimas and the German Bundestag have maintained active relations, but new forms and opportunities of cooperation must be found in order to strengthen parliamentary cooperation between the countries," said the Seimas speaker.

At the meeting Grauziniene welcomed the fact that Germany has been one of the biggest investors in Lithuania. The Seimas speaker emphasised Lithuania's strategically convenient location for investment and thus the need to develop investment further.

President of the German Bundestag, Norbert Lammert, arrived to Lithuania this week to attend the Konrad Adenauer Foundation's conference in Vilnius.
