Ukraine cannot export electricity to Lithuania, because Belarus does not want to permit electricity transit via its territory, claims Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Minister Oleg Bugajev, NEWSru.com reports.

Recently, during a trilateral meeting, Lithuania has informed that it was ready to import electricity as of next year, however, Belarus stated to Ukraine that it could supply electricity to Lithuania itself and is ready to buy Ukrainian electricity, informs ELTA.

In the end of last week, the Ukrainian foreign minister informed that Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania agreed on the transit of Ukrainian electricity to the territory of Lithuania.

Bugajev underlined that the Ukrainian Fuel and Energy Ministry would continue negotiations striving to ensure a possibility to supply at least 20 megawatts of electricity to Lithuania.
