Belarus to supply electricity to Lithuania after closing Ignalina

Lithuania will also receive the needed amount of electricity after the decommissioning of the Ignalina nuclear power plant (AE) from the state company Belenergo of Belarus.
The company Energijos Realizacijos Centras (ERC) operating in Lithuania announced having signed a long-term agreement on energy supply to Lithuania with the Belarusian energy company Belenergo at the beginning of February 2009, reports ELTA.
According to ERC, it is a part of its implemented complex model of electricity trading. According to the long-term agreements, this model together with Russia"s electricity supply will increase the amount of received electricity and reliability of the system after the decommissioning of the Ignalina AE.
ERC is a subsidiary of the company Inter RAO UES. It carries out exports and imports of electricity as well as trades electricity in the country.
