Elering is considering a bonds issue to finance Estlink 2
Juhan Tere, BC, Tallinn, 03.02.2010.Print version
Managing director of Elering Taavi Veskimägi stated in an interview to Äripäev that Elering may issue bonds to draw more financing for the Estlink 2 project beside investments from Fingrid and the EU, writes Äripäev.ee/LETA.
“Nothing has been decided as yet,” said the head of the transmission grid enterprise. He added that a bonds issue and a bank loan will probably be the two main options for finding money. Elering would not be able to get listed on the stock exchange as the EU requires that system administration companies be fully owned by the State.
Veskimägi stated that the return on the investment for uniting the Estonian power system with that of the European Union would be 6.2% – that has been set by the Competition Board.
