Spain is interested in the opportunity to invest into the renewable energy resources in Lithuania

On Tuesday, Lithuania's Minister of Energy Jaroslav Neverovich met with Spain's Minister of Foreign Affairs Jose Manuel Garcia Margallo. During the meeting, the issues related the common energy questions of the European Union (EU) were being discussed, informs LETA/ELTA.

Moreover, Spain took the interest in the opportunity to invest into the renewable energy resources in Lithuania.

 

During the meeting, the ministers discussed the issues related to the supply of the energy resources and the energy facilities, the priorities of the Lithuania's Presidency of the EU Council and the course of the events, the implementation of the strategic energy projects in Lithuania and the opportunities for the bilateral cooperation.

 

Having discussed the results of the Lithuania's Presidency of the EU Council related to the energy, Neverovich highlighted that Spain and Lithuania faced similar challenges while solving the problems related to the energy facilities.

 

The ministers discussed the projects of the Liquid Natural Gas (LNG) terminal. According to the minister, this project was developing in the successful way.


Margallo took interest in the opportunities for Spanish business to invest into the renewable energy resources in Lithuania.

 

It was highlighted that this was the underlying sphere of the entire EU and that the investments into the renewable energy resources were to grow in the future.
