Government support raising minimum wage to EUR 380 in Latvia

The government today supported the Welfare Ministry's proposal to increased the minimum wage in Latvia from EUR 370 to 380 from January 1 of next year, writes LETA.

According to information from the Central Statistical Bureau, there were 177,800 employed persons in April of this year who received a monthly salary of EUR 370 or less.


144,500 of these employed persons worked in the private sector, while 30,600 in the public sector.
