As reported, the 100 lat program is a social security program in which out of work persons receive LVL 100 per month for doing various odd jobs offered by local governments.
During the visit, Zoellick meet with persons participating in the program, discussed their working conditions as well asked what they thought about the economic situation in the country, informs LETA.
The World Bank president was a bit surprised to find out that the LVL 100 these persons make is their monthly wage, not their daily or weekly wage.
Later today, Zoellick will meet with Prime Minister Valdis Dombrovskis (New Era) and European Commissioner for Development Andris Piebalgs.
