For a Good Latvia registered the biggest spending per elected candidate
Although precise information on the parties' election campaign spending will only be known in several months, the amount of spending per elected candidate can already be calculated by considering the donations received by the parties during the pre-election period, informs LETA.
The highest price for each elected deputy in the 10th Saeima was paid by For a Good Latvia, with each seat in parliament costing the party LVL 111,977. The lowest spending per seat was by All for Latvia!-For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK – LVL 15,282.
Election winners Unity paid LVL 20,322 per mandate, with Harmony Center paying LVL 18,767 per seat and the Union of Greens and Farmers – LVL 20,584 per seat.
For Human Rights in a United Latvia, who failed to gain inclusion in parliament, spent LVL 100,000 in vain during their election campaign.
As reported, Unity, the winning political alliance in Saturday's election, will have 33 deputy seats in the 10th Saeima, according to unofficial results from the Central Election Commission.
Runner-up Harmony Center will have 29 seats, while the third-placed Greens/Farmers Union will have 22.
For A Good Latvia has gained eight parliament seats and All For Latvia/For Fatherland and Freedom/LNNK also eight.
