Ukio Bankas supports International Christmas Charity Fair in 2010

"I am happy, that Ukio Bankas employees were active this year in donating various souvenirs for the fair and some of them devoted there own time while organizing this event. More and more frequently the people of Lithuania join charity activities and wonderful results are obvious – kindness and help to each other is proliferating," chairwomen of Ukio Bankas Supervisory council Edita Karpaviciene said.
The trade fair has become a tradition. This year the eighth event was organized in Vilnius Town Hall. Almost 300,000 litas were raised for charity during the fair, writes LETA/ELTA.
Residents and guests of Vilnius donated 187,000 litas by buying Christmas souvenirs, hand-made jewelry, and traditional desserts prepared by over 30 countries and four international schools.
Supporters of the fair have donated 110,000 litas to the charity organizations.
All funds, raised during the fair will go to Clinic of Children's Diseases of Kaunas Medical University, Children and Youth boarding school of Vilnius City, charity fund Ekklesia, Centre of Oncohematology of Vilnius University Children’s Hospital, Kijeliu special educational center in Moletai, old people foster home in Alanta and day center of children and youth Mesu nameliai.
On December 14, Tuesday during formal event, the representatives of the International Vilnius Women’s association having organized the fair will hand official charity cheques to the charity receivers.
