Government donates LVL 20,000 for Ziedonis' funeral

Print versionThe Latvian government today supported allotting from emergency funds LVL 19,920 for the funeral of Poet Laureate Imants Ziedonis, informs LETA.

The cherished writer and public figure died February 27 at age 79.
Ziedonis was held in highest esteem, indicated by the fact that the prime minister ordered formation of a special committee for organization of the funeral.
In Riga Dome Cathedral this Wednesday, respects and farewells can be expressed by one and all between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. At 1 p.m., Reverend Juris Rubenis will lead a church service.
Burial will be in Ragaciema Cemetery, Lapmezciema County, Engure Region.
