Jaunalko to export "Kurland" vodka to Australia
Thanks to its quality, design and brand name, the popular Latvian vodka "Kurland" has already gained recognition in a number of countries in Europe, writes LETA.
The "Kurland" vodka has several varieties: "Kurland Premium", "Kurland Original", "Kurland Piladzis", "Dzins Kurland" and "Kurland Red".
"We have not exported any Jaunalko products to Australia before; this is the first step starting export trade with this country. In the beginning, export volume will not be very high, but we are confident that the product will gain recognition in Australia and then we will start exporting also other brands of Latvia-made vodka," Demiters explains.
After a visit to Latvia, Australian cooperation partners admitted that the Jaunalko vodka production meets all the requirements of Australian market and that no changes in its production process need to be introduced as it is often done to adapt goods to export markets.
Profit of Jaunalko last year was LVL 96,926, which is almost fourfold increase on 2006, when it earned LVL 24,643.
Turnover of the company in 2007 totalled LVL 10.4 million, registering a 67% increase on the results of 2006 , which was significantly more than the company had expected.
Last year the company produced 3.26 millions of liters of alcoholic beverages, which is 55% more than in 2006.
Jaunalko is one of the largest alcoholic beverages producers in the Baltic States, the company mainly produces high quality vodkas and spirits. Jaunalko exports its products to a number of countries in Europe, Asia and America.
