Hesburger turnover in Baltic countries grew to EUR 48 mln in 2014

The Finnish-Baltic fast-food restaurant chain Hesburger posted EUR 48 million in sales in the Baltic countries last year, which is 7.4 percent more than in 2013, as Hesburger Development Director for the Baltic countries Ieva Salmela told LETA.

Hesburger turnover in Latvia totaled EUR 17.5 million, in Lithuania – EUR 11.9 million, and in Estonia – EUR 18.6 million. The company invested EUR 3 million in opening new Hesburger restaurants in Latvia last year.

 

Hesburger opened four new restaurants in Riga in 2014, said Salmela. The data for 2014 indicate that the company's development is steady and growing. "This year, too, we will continue the development and expansion of the Hesburger network, and investments in the Latvian market will reach approximately EUR 3.5 million."

 

A total of eight new Hesburger restaurants opened in the Baltic countries last year, including four in Riga. The company plans to open several new restaurants in Riga this year, of which one, on Krasta Street, will become the largest Hesburger restaurant in Latvia.

 

Hesburger runs more than 400 restaurants in Finland, Baltic countries, Germany, Russia and Turkey, which employ over 6,100 people. Last summer the company celebrated ten years of doing business in Latvia.

 

In 2013, Hesburger posted EUR 17.2 million in turnover in Latvia – 11 percent increase on 2012. The company's sales in all Baltic countries totaled EUR 45.5 million. The company's investments in the Baltics amounted to EUR 10 million in 2013, including EUR 3.7 million invested in Latvia.
