Wizz Air, the largest low-cost airline in Central and Eastern Europe, yesterday celebrated its biggest ever milestone with 100 million passengers carried on its low-fare services over the past 11 years. The 100 millionth passenger travelled on WIZZ’s London-Luton to Warsaw route and to celebrate this milestone WIZZ surprised all passengers on board with the offer of a free flight.

Over 40 million of all passengers who flew Wizz Air in the past 11 years travelled on one of the airline’s Polish routes.  In response to the increasing popularity of its low fare offer Wizz Air has been continuously improving its customer service. Recently the airline introduced seat allocation and an additional allowance for passengers with priority boarding to carry a personal item with their cabin baggage.

This week we are celebrating at all our six Polish airport bases because 40% of our phenomenal growth was made with our Polish customers and their visitors. I am proud to work with a team of over 2,400 best-in-class professionals, 650 of which are Polish, in consistently delivering incredibly low fares to the market. Today’s milestone has been achieved through our cost discipline and by passing on savings to our customers in form of low fares and a great service. We remain committed to grow passenger traffic in all Polish regions we fly to, and to continuously offer our customers new opportunities to travel, whether on business, leisure or to unite with their families. The WIZZ travel experience will continue to consist of great low fares and a service proposition that allows adding the comfort features that meet our customer’s travel needs. I look forward to offering more new routes, more flights and more opportunities to our passengers.”
