Fazer Lithuania expands Kaunas bakery for EUR 1.7 mln

Print versionFazer Lietuva, a Lithuanian bakery of Gardesis bread and confectionery trade owned by Finland's Fazer Bakeries, invested 1.7 mln euros in expansion and opened new bakery facilities in Lithuania's second city Kaunas on Friday writes LETA/BNS.

Mindaugas Snarskis,
CEO at Fazer Bakery Baltic, said the
bakery featured a new production line of bread snacks, adding that exports of
the snacks would grow by a factor of five. Furthermore, the production will be
exported to Russia, with plans to expand to Finland in the future, as the
company has bakerie sin both countries.
Kaunas Mayor Visvaldas
Matijosaitis said the company was one of the city's key employers,
employing 240 Kaunas residents.
Fazer Lietuva's
sales grew by 3.4% to 16.625 mln euros in 2016 y-o-y.
