Albright Lietuva, the UK-owned manufacturer of switches and contactors located in the free economic zone (FEZ) of Klaipeda by adding a new production facility built for about 3 million euros next year, is expanding its operations in Lithuania, Verslo Zinios daily reported, cites LETA/BNS.

"Over the financial year, which expired at the end of September, we manufactured more than 1.3 million switches – this is the maximum level we can produce, while operating in the current premises in one shift. Seeing that we are nearing the production peak, we have been considering various expansion scenarios over the past few years. We even considered multiple shifts, however, dropped the idea. This year, the main corporation decided to expand the plant," Ramunas Barcevicius, CEO at Albright Lietuva, told the daily.

The new 1,800-square-meter building will be launched next to Albright Lietuva's current factory of 2,200 square meters in late 2018. In Barcevicius' words, larger production facilities should raise the annual output by a third to 1.7 million switches.
