Lithuania's LET sells LNG to new partner Trafigura
The shipment was on Tuesday loaded from the FSRU Independence to the Coral EnergICE gas vessel, LET said, without elaborating on the volumes and deadlines of future cooperation.
"Trafigura is our new partner, and such world-renown commodity trading companies, depending on market conditions, could be both LNG buyers and sellers in the future," said LET CEO Mantas Mikalajunas.
In his words, the company hopes that LNG handling will become a key part of its activity and help to reduce the LNG terminal's maintenance costs for consumers.
LET handled eight small LNG shipments at the LNG terminal in Klaipeda last year, with the total volume standing at around 300 GWh. The shipments were aimed for gas consumers in the Baltic Sea region and the Klaipeda overground LNG station.
LET also sells gas to Estonian and Polish clients, delivered by tank trucks.
