Apollo, Rahva Raamat and Krisostomus bookstore chains offer more than 120 Estonian-language e-books. Phone company Elion entered the book trade also.
Different e-reader devices have been on sale in Estonia for a while but so far, foreign literature could be read with them.
While most publishing houses do not forecast a boom of e-books in Estonia, some publishing houses like Varrak intend to publish printed and e-book version of new books simultaneously in the future.
