The Tallinn city government decided on Wednesday to increase the share capital of AS Tallinna Tööstuspargid (Tallinn Industrial Parks) which means that the city’s third industrial park will be developed in the Lasnamäe city district, near the Tallinn airport, LETA/Postimees Online reports.
Deputy mayor Eha Võrk said at the city government press conference that the land granted for the development amounts to 63,991 sq metres.
“The logistical location of this industrial park, next to the airport, is especially important,” said Võrk. “This is also most likely the reason why already today there is high interest towards developing the park.”
The area will be distributed into 16 business and production land units. Roads and techno-communications will be built by AS Lemmikäinen Eesti. The first stage has to be completed on June 30, 2011.
Võrk said that the two industrial parks the city has now, Tondiraba and Betooni, provide jobs for more than 1,360 people while the new park should provide jobs for around 1,000.
