In two years, everybody in Latvia will be using electronic signatures (e-signatures), as Latvian State Radio and Television Center's (LVRTC) board chairman Janis Bokta said in an interview with Latvian State Television program Labrit, Latvija! (Good Morning, Latvia!) today.

According to Bokta, the e-signature system in Latvia has the highest degree of security. Only three or four other countries have a similar system. Even Estonia's e-signature system is less secure.

At the moment, e-signatures are available to SEB banka customers. The bank started to offer this service to its individual customers last week.

Bokta emphasized that, in the future, all legal entities will be obliged to accept e-signatures, LETA reported.
