Estonian companies Valmos and Bellus Furniture confident of continuing export boom

"I can see that markets could shrink, but we have not made our business plans based on this assumption. We are fighting to keep our budget stable," said CEO of Valmos Heiki Vahermets.
According to Urmas Aun, CEO of Bellus Furniture, exports provide a considerable part of the company's output, and the next year should bring growth in the company's exports since it is expanding to new markets.
Valmos specializes in production of rotary and sliced birch veneer.
The company employs more than 200 people and produces approximately 12 million square meters of birch veneer per year.
The factory started its operation in April 2004 with production space of 9,000 square meters. Veneer is produced with three peeling lines and one slicer.
More than 95% of the output is birch veneer with a smaller volume of pine veneer. The logs are carefully selected and brought from Estonia as well as neighboring Latvia, Finland and Russia.
Bellus Furniture is focused on production of fabric and leather armchairs and sofas. The collection of Bellus Furniture includes over 100 models. The company has a range of 200 different standard fabrics and a wide leather collection.
Currently the enterprise produces approximately 120,000 sofas per year and employ 420 people. Our design team is constantly developing new models.
