In 2011 the number of tourists accommodated in Lithuania grew by 15.4%
The majority of foreign tourists were from Russia – 35.1 thousand (in IV quarter 2010, 26.5 thousand), Belarus – 24.8 thousand (in IV quarter 2010, 22.8 thousand), Poland – 22.6 thousand (in IV quarter 2010, 22.9 thousand), Latvia – 17.3 thousand (in IV quarter 2010, 14.3 thousand), Germany – 15.1 thousand (in IV quarter 2010, 12 thousand), the United Kingdom – 7.6 thousand (in IV quarter 2010, 8.3 thousand), Estonia – 7.1 thousand (in IV quarter 2010, 6.9 thousand), and Finland – 6.7 thousand (in IV quarter 2010, 7.6 thousand).
In the last quarter of 2011, a quarter of tourists stayed in the accommodation establishments of resort towns: Druskininkai received 64 thousand tourists, which is by 20.2% more than in IV quarter 2010, Palanga – 26 thousand tourists (by 29.8% more), Birštonas – 6.4 thousand (by 1% more), Neringa – 2.5 thousand tourists (by 1.3% more).

In 2011, the accommodation establishments of Lithuania received 1.8 million tourists, or by 15.4% more than in the same period of 2010; the number of foreign tourists amounted to 1 million (by 19.5% more).

In 2011, the number of tourists accommodated in hotels and guesthouses amounted to 1.4 million
In IV quarter 2011, compared to same quarter of 2010, Lithuanian hotels and guesthouses had by 18.5% more tourists; the number of foreign tourists accommodated increased by 19.2%. The hotel and guesthouse room occupancy rate stood at 39.9% (in IV quarter 2010, 33.3%).
In IV quarter 2011, Vilnius hotels and guesthouses accommodated 145.5 thousand tourists, which is by 22.2% more than in the same quarter of 2010; the number of foreign tourists amounted to 115.9 thousand, or by 24.8% more. In IV quarter 2011, the room occupancy rate of Vilnius hotels and guesthouses stood at 52.2% (in IV quarter 2010, 43.4%).
In 2011, the number of tourists accommodated in hotels and guesthouses amounted to 1.4 million (i.e. by 18.3% more than in 2010); the number of foreign tourists amounted to 882.8 thousand (by 19.9% more).
In 2011, Vilnius hotels and guesthouses accommodated 637.4 thousand tourists (i.e. by 22.9% more than in 2010); the number of foreign tourists amounted to 531.5 thousand (by 23.7% more). The room occupancy rate of Vilnius hotels and guesthouses stood at 56% (in 2010, 46.8%).

Concepts
Accommodation establishment refers to a local kind-of-activity unit providing paid short-stay accommodation services and facilities to satisfy overnight accommodation and hygiene needs.
Number of tourists accommodated includes Lithuanian residents and foreign visitors with at least one overnight stay in an accommodation establishment.
