Depo DIY was the leader in construction supplies industry in Latvia in 2011
Rautakesko was second with LVL 37 million in turnover, Tirdzniecibas nams Kursi was third with a turnover of LVL 34.8 million, writes LETA.
Jeld-Wen Latvija achieved LVL 20.95 million in turnover, followed by Kompanija Avotini – LVL 17.56 million, Kruza – LVL 10.02 million, Valpro – LVL 6.97 million, Optimera Latvija – LVL 6.2 million, Paroc – LVL 6.09 million, and Saint-Gobain Celtniecibas produkti – LVL 5.92 million.
Rautakesko Board Chairman Alo Ivask points out that there is a growing demand for construction supplies for state, municipal and corporate projects. The European Union's co-funding, for example – for the European Regional Development Fund's projects, plays an important role in facilitating construction and construction supplies trade.
The future of Latvia's economy and trade depends on eurozone developments and Latvia's economic recovery. Stable, constant and balanced economic improvements are needed for residents to be able to earn money and not to leave the country, believes Ivask.
