Government's entrepreneurship policy budget amounts to 22 mln euros

The Estonian government approved on Thursday of the implementation plan for the last year of the Estonian entrepreneurship policy 2007-2013, the budget of which is 21.8 million euros and which sets raising the competitiveness of Estonian companies as the biggest challenge, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

The state continues several ongoing activities with the implementation plan, as the result of which, the export ability of Estonian companies should increase, foreign investments volume should increase, access to capital should improve, investments of companies will be supported and legal environment will be amended.

 

The budget contains direct support to companies as well as counselling and support services. Entrepreneurs can use 106 million euros as guarantees and sureties and direct loans and up to 400 million euros as export guarantees.

 

The economy and communications ministry also aims to compile entrepreneurship growth strategy 2020 to set aims for the next 7 years.

 

Entrepreneurship policy is implemented by Kredex and Enterprise Estonia mainly and the activities are financed from the Estonian state budget as well as EU structural funds.
