Prisma to open a new store in central Tallinn

A supermarket chain Prisma Peremarket that belongs to Finnish SOK group agreed on opening a new store in the center of Tallinn, reports Estonian news portal BBN referring to Aripaev. The new store will be located on the corner of Hobujaama and Ahtri street in the complex that will also include a bus terminal, writes LETA.

The company plans to invest about 30 million euros in the store.

 

Janne Lihavainen, CEO of Prisma Peremarket, says that the company has been looking for central location in Tallinn for some time and plans to start competing, among others, with the grocery unit of Tallinna Kaubamaja.

 

According to Lihavainen, it took about two years to sign the contract.

 

Prisma operates since the year 2000 in Estonia.

 

As reported, the turnover of Prisma Peremarket (Prisma Family Market) supermarket chain was 178 million euros in 2012 in Estonia, which was an increase of nearly 20 percent from a year before.

 

The profit of the company was 2.7 million euros, which was considered as a successful result in Estonia.

 

The company has nearly 1,200 employees in Tallinn, Tartu and Narva.

 

Prisma belongs to the Nordic company SOK.
