BC, Tallinn, 23.02.2016.Print version
Atria Eesti AS, Estonian operation of the Finnish food group Atria, is in talks to find a new owner for its meatpacking plant at Vastse-Kuuste in southeastern Estonia which is to be closed in April, but no deals have been reached yet, informs LETA.

"We have never had an intention to completely close down the Vaste-Kuuste plant and our main interest is for someone to take over," CEO of Atria Eesti Olle Horm told BNS.

According to Horm, the company is in talks, but there is nothing certain yet and therefore he cannot comment any further.

He said he hopes that an agreement would be reached before April when the plant will be closed.

Atria Eesti AS is about to shut down its meatpacking plant at Vastse-Kuuste in southeastern Estonia and lay off its 40 workers by April. Horm said in January that in the present market situation there was not enough business for two plants of Atria in Estonia and all production activities will be brought together at the plant situated in the border town Valga.
