Tele2 planned meteorite hoax with media agency Inspired
Nina Kolyako, BC, Riga, 27.10.2009.Print version
The meteorite publicity stunt was organized by the mobile phone operator Tele2 in tandem with the media agency Inspired, as business info portal Nozare.lv/LETA was told today by Tele2 PR Director Vita Sirica, who added that the meteorite is part of Tele2's further "communication campaign."
Sirica reserved detailed comment on the campaign, but did say: "We can promise that we have truly positive solutions in mind for the Latvian community. And the meteorite here is a vibrant metaphor that stirs up the public domain. Wide discussion alone is valuable, which prompts thoughts of pressing issues in Latvia, accents conflicts and brings light to not only positive aspects. We as a company have a vision of how to make life in Latvia better."
Sirica also mentioned that the many calls that Tele2 has received proves that clients have a positive take on the stunt. "True, there are detractors, who feel offended, but the positive wave is greater," she said.
