Thermo Fisher Scientific acquires Fermentas

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., the world leader in serving science, has completed its previously announced acquisition of molecular biology enterprise Fermentas International Inc, Fermentas International reports. Fermentas has approximately 500 employees, and the company's headquarters are located in Burlington, Ontario, with principal operations in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Fermentas will be integrated into Thermo Fisher Scientific's Analytical Technologies Segment.

 

With Fermentas' broad range of high-quality molecular and cellular biology research tools, including reagents, enzymes and kits, Thermo Fisher can offer a complete workflow for genomics research while building on its platform of PCR and qPCR tools and resources.
