Kruuda: prices of dairy goods will increase by 40% in Estonia

Print versionThe Estonian Tere dairy industry board chairman Oliver Kruuda said that dye to more expensive raw material but also higher export, prices of dairy products will increase by around 40% in Estonia in autumn 2010, LETA/Postimees Online reports.

Tere and Valio raised the prices of dairy products last week, Maag will do it this week.
“People get poorer because of electricity and petrol prices, not milk price. Milk price money goes to Estonian producers and manufacturers and not to Saudi Arabia or Russia,” said Kruuda.
Kruuda said that the demand for Tere’s products is high in neighbouring states and brings there a much better price than in Estonia.
Kruuda added that the price of raw milk has increased by 60% in a year.
