Rigas Centraltirgus’ new head – Anatolijs Abramovs

Joint-stock municipal company Rigas Centraltirgus (Riga Central Market) today accepted a letter of resignation handed in by the company's head Dainis Liepins, and appointed Anatolijs Abramovs as the company's new board chairman, LETA learned from the Riga City Council's Public Relations Department.

Abramovs has a degree in law, he has worked as a lecturer at Latvian Police Academy and on the council of the joint-stock power utility Latvenergo.

 

Abramovs current job is member of the board at the Riga municipal waterworks company.

 

Liepins told LETA that during his term in office he had improved the Central Market's image, and it is no longer a place where people could find contraband cigarettes and alcohol.

 

Rigas Centraltirgus profit was approximately LVL 350,000 as of October this year, and by the end of the year the company's profit could reach LVL 500,000, said Liepins.

 

As reported, Liepins was appointed head of Rigas Centraltirgus on August 11 last year.
