Tomberg will take office in Enterprise Estonia on July 14. Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the foundation Ahti Kuningas said that the decision made by the board was unanimous.

“Although the call for applications for the position was a popular one and there were numerous good candidates, Hanno Tomberg was the strongest candidate. Hanno’s vision of leadership and organisational development in Enterprise Estonia impressed the members of the Supervisory Board,” he added.

Tomberg commented that during the coming years, the foundation will have to become even better oriented to clients, and provide more advisory services to entrepreneurs alongside its core task of distributing various grants. “Enterprise Estonia has to be the primary partner for Estonian entrepreneurs in implementing their ideas, focussing first and foremost on companies with export capacity,” he said.

Previously, Tomberg was working as a member of the Management Board in the National Broadcasting, but resigned from the post on June 1.
