Vilnius, Riga see substantial rise in apartment sale transactions in January

The average apartment price in Tallinn in January remained the highest among the three Baltic capitals at 1.537 euros per square meter, even though it fell by 1.2% from December and by 1.6% from January 2015.
The average apartment price in Vilnius climbed by 0.2% over the month to 1,329 euros per square meter and the average price in Riga edged up by 0.4% to 1,061 euros per square meter. Year-on-year, the average apartment prices in Vilnius and Riga rose by 3.9% and 0.7%, respectively.
At the same time, Vilnius ranked first among the three Baltic capitals by the number of apartment sale transactions, which rose by 39% year-on-year to 698 in January. The number of such transactions in Riga grew by an annual 37% to 670 while the number of transactions in Tallinn grew by meager 3% to 549.
