Danuta Pavilenene, BC, Vilnius, 29.12.2009.Print version
The first Lithuanian glossary of tourism terms was published under the commission of the Lithuanian State Department of Tourism.

The glossary contains more than 1,500 Lithuanian tourism terms with English equivalents. The readers will be able to find the names of the most important tourism organizations, the explanations of Lithuanian and English abbreviations in the glossary. The glossary was prepared and published in 1,500 copies only by the Science and Encyclopedia Publishing Institute, informs ELTA/LETA.

According to Nijole Kliokiene, Head of the State Department of Tourism, the glossary will be particularly useful for the tourism students; therefore, Lithuanian libraries, universities, higher and vocational schools, training centers and tourist information centers will be presented with a free copy of the glossary.

"It was misunderstanding that prompted the publication of this glossary: sometimes the same terms are interpreted differently in the areas of tourism, management and business planning. We believe that this publication will be useful and practical tool for everyone," said Kliokiene.
