airBaltic and Riga airport sign letter of intent on dropping court proceedings

Latvian national airline airBaltic and Riga International Airport have signed a letter of intent on dropping court proceedings and on their future cooperation, the business portal Nozare.lv was informed by representatives of both parties.

The statement released to the press today does not contain details of the contents of the document or any other agreement, but both parties have expressed their satisfaction at the outcome of talks, reports LETA.

 

airBaltic spokesman Janis Vanags indicated that a common position and agreement had been reached after extensive discussions, while Riga International Airport board member Janis Kuzulis expressed his satisfaction at the agreement, which gives hope that the two companies will return to their previous cooperation and continue their common development.

 

Transport Minister Kaspars Gerhards (TB/LNNK) last week gave the two companies a deadline of Monday, August 16 to come to an agreement on the issue of outstanding debts said to be owed to the airport by airBaltic.
